Description
Order a print of St. Demetrios Byzantine Icon – He was a young man from a noble family in Thessaloniki who was appointed as a military commander. Secretly a Christian, he used his position to teach and convert others, defying Emperor Maximian’s orders. When his faith was discovered, he was imprisoned. He encouraged a young Christian named Nestor to defeat a formidable gladiator, which angered the emperor, leading to both Demetrios and Nestor being martyred around 306 AD.
